Not done yet: stand with Lesley and everyone who cannot wait

Lesley has lived with a brain tumour for more than twenty years. She has watched both of her parents die in ways they would never have chosen. Now she is facing her own uncertain future, knowing that if her tumour progresses, she could lose her speech, movement and memory.

She does not want to die. She wants the choice not to endure avoidable suffering.
Right now, the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is facing delay tactics in the House of Lords. Opponents are trying to run it out of time. They are counting on people losing interest. Lesley, and thousands like her, cannot afford for that to happen. Your donation will help make sure we are not done yet.
Lesley is speaking out because she does not want anyone else to live in fear of what their terminal illness brings, or to watch a loved one die in pain unnecessarily. Your gift today helps turn stories like hers into real change.
“Radiotherapy was brutal. You are bolted to a bed with a mask over your face. The fatigue is like a tsunami. I had to keep asking the staff to remind me why I was doing it. It was my only option.
I have watched both of my parents die slowly, in ways they would never have chosen, because the law gave them no other choice. I am 68 now. I am fairly healthy apart from this thing in my head, but the anxiety about what I may face is terrible.
I do not want to die yet. I just want the choice.”
Donate today – we can’t do this work without you.
Did you know My Death, My Decision is a small grassroots organisation? We are led primarily by volunteers and a small, dedicated staff team. It is incredible what such a small organisation has already achieved in Parliament and in the media.
But to keep the Bill moving through the next stages, we need resources.
With your donation, My Death, My Decision can:
-
- Brief and support Peers who are standing up to filibustering and delay
- Help people like Lesley share their stories safely and powerfully
- Produce evidence and research that counters scaremongering
- Reach new supporters, so our movement is louder than the opposition
- Keep campaigning until assisted dying is a genuine, safe choice in the UK
We are up against a well-organised and well-funded opposition. Every pound you give helps to level the playing field.
